Very simply put great breakfast dishes served with a piping hot and a smile that's always ready to refill the coffee or tea mugs.
My daughter attended QU for 4 years & I always said we've got to have breakfast at the classic Brown Stone House Restaurant. Finally 1.5 years following her graduation we made it AND no disappointment in sight. -

Well I finally stopped in, after riding by fir aoo many years.
Food was ok, nothing spectacular. The place could use a good sprucing up inside and out.
Ample parking out back. -

Brown Stone is...ok. There is a lot of hype since the location has been within the community for so long. Don't get me wrong, that's great! They definitely have their normals and generations of customers who come here, and it is hard to find a restaurant with such staying power over the years...especially post-recession. With that being said the food quality is nothing special. There are plenty of diners in Connecticut that offer something special here and there that make Brown Stone seem a little plain. I will say that, given BSH's generous portion sizes, you will get the best bargain for your buck.

I've driven by this place several times and so today I decided to stop bye-after all, it looks quaint from the corner; sadly, this place needs to place an emergency call to Terminix as the joint is infested with black flies. When I mentioned this to my waitress she shrugged and mumbled: "Yeah I know." Chowder had the unmistakable taste of being from a can, the burger was dry and fries cold.

Needed a quick brunch spot and found this place close to home. Ordered waffles topped with strawberries and it was delicious!
The service was a bit inattentive, but I think it was because they were about to close.
Would be back to explore more options on the menu!
